Common
Less-common
Small enough to be accountable.
naomitranslates is a small, Lisbon-based practice, not a network. You deal with the same small team from quote to delivery — there's no call centre, no anonymous project number standing in for a person.
Being boutique isn't a limitation here; it's the reason we can tell you exactly who is doing your work and exactly what it costs, before you commit.
Questions
Yes, but it doesn't work the way it does in some other countries. Portugal has no personal "sworn translator" title. Certification here means the translator makes a formal declaration of accuracy before a notary, lawyer or solicitador, which is attached to the translation. We handle that process for you.
It depends on the service: certified documents are priced per document or per page, word-count work is priced per word, subtitling and transcription are priced per minute, and interpreting is priced per half-day or full day. Our Pricing page shows every model with real numbers. A less-common language pair adds 35%; a next-business-day rush adds 35%.
It depends on the service and the volume — each service page states its standard turnaround. A rush option (next business day, +35%) is available on most document and word-count work.
Yes. Files are handled by the translator and reviewer assigned to your project and are not shared beyond that. See How it works for how we handle files and data, and our Privacy Policy for the full policy.
You have 14 days after delivery to send it back for a free amendment if something's missing or incorrect. Certified documents that have already been notarised or apostilled can't be reissued for free once produced, since they're made to your specification.
